June 3: Starlight Parade
The Starlight Parade continues to be a longtime festival tradition dating back to the early 1900s—originally floats built on electric trolley cars! Today, approximately 100 illuminated floats, bands and participants will wind their way through the 2.25-mile route downtown. This is a twinkling, summer night downtown that you and the family don’t want to miss. FREE
June 7-11: Fleet Week
Since 1907 ships and submarines from the U.S Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and the Royal Canadian Navy have dropped anchor at the Portland Waterfront to visit the city. Over 100 years strong, Fleet Week celebrates all active and reserve military personnel and all veterans. Climb aboard and take a tour! FREE
June 9: Portland Fruit Beer Festival
Join the Portland Fruit Beer Festival for its 7th year! This event boasts the largest selection of fruit beers, food from local venders and music. All ages are welcome!
June 10: Portland Scandinavian Midsummer Festival
Head down to Oaks Park to celebrate summer solstice at the 89th annual Scandinavian Midsummer Festival! It’s tradition to warm up after a long and cold winter by celebrating with friends, food, and drinks. Featuring: a Maypole, food, games, bonfire, Nordic crafts, vendors and artists. Scandinavian roots not required!
June 10: Portland Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade
For over 100 years, Oregonians have been making memories at the Spirit Mountain Casino Grand Floral Parade! This cherished highlight of the festival is a colorful reflection of the local, regional and international communities. The parade commences at the Memorial Coliseum at 10am and winds its way downtown along a new 4.2-mile route. FREE
June 10-11: Dragon Boat Races
As a tradition for the last 29 years, The Rose Festival hosts the Portland Rose Festival Dragon Boat Race. This race will be held on the Willamette River next to the Hawthorne Bridge. Watch more than 80 local and international teams compete in heats that are held every nine minutes! FREE
June 17-18: Portland Pride Festival and Parade
This event celebrates equality, the LGBTQ community, friends, families and allies! The parade commences at 11 a.m. Sunday at NW Park Ave. & W Burnside Street (see website for route). The Festival will be held all weekend at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park and features food, beverages and local vendors.
June 18: Father’s Day Cruise
Treat dad to a cruise on board the Portland Spirit for Father’s Day. This Sunday activity includes a private table, brunch buffet, variety of beverages, dessert and a special treat for Dad! Multiple cruises are available on the Portland Spirit and the Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler.
June 21 – September 9: Oregon Zoo Summer Concerts
Grab your family and friends for one of the many concerts that the Oregon Zoo will be hosting. Enjoy great music by famous artists, food, and local beer & wine selections. Artists include: 2Cellos, Natalie Merchant, Seu Jorge, John Prine, Aimee Mann, and Blind Pilot. Admission includes day pass to the Zoo.
June 24: Naked Bike Ride
This Portland famous event is held in conjunction with the annual World Naked Bike Ride. Hundreds of naked cyclists pedal the streets of Portland to promote bicycling, safe streets, and body positivity. FREE with suggested donation.
