May 6: Cinco de Mayo Run/Walk
The 2018 Cinco de Mayo run/walk features a half marathon, 10K, 5K, and a half miler that starts and ends in the east side industrial area next to OMSI. Awesome awards, prizes, and giveaways!
May 11-12: Northwest Quilters 44th Annual Quilt Show
The Northwest Quilters celebrate the 44th annual “A Festival of Quilts” show. This Portland expo event will feature over 300 quilts on display, vendors, silent auctions, food, and beverages!
May 12: Doggie Dash 2018
Doggie Dash registration is FREE. 2018 marks the 150th anniversary! To celebrate, OHS is giving back by waiving all registration fees. The Doggie Dash features two routes for both runners and walkers. Many of the day’s activities are free and will include: food, live music, vender booths, clinics, and canine contests!
May 13: Mother’s Day Brunch
Surprise mom with sweet and savory brunch favorites at the Oregon Zoo! This year’s menu includes made-to-order omelets, roast turkey, herbed pimento cheese grits, biscuits and gravy, and pastries. Call 503-525-4299 for reservations.
May 13: 5th Annual Reigning Roses Walk
Join the Reigning Roses Walk to celebrate a special woman in your life on Mother’s Day. This event will feature a reception with beverages, treats and entertainment at Castaway Portland. Participants will walk the 5k course through the streets of NW Portland and the top fundraising teams will be eligible for prizes!

May 19: Portland Train Day 2018
Portland Train Day joins Train Days across the country in commemorating the completion of the first transcontinental railroad with the pounding of the ‘Golden Spike’ at Promontory Summit, Utah in 1869. Portland Train Day will feature live music, games, steam trains on display, train rides, food carts, and a museum visit at the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation!
May 19: Red Dress Party
This year’s theme is “Wicked Red!”. Grab your gown and prepare to party while raising funds for Rock N’ Roll Camp for Girls and Bridging Voices! Men and women are required to wear red dresses for entry. Drink red cocktails, mingle and dance. 21 and over.
May 25- June 10: Portland Rose Festival
Kick off the Portland Rose Festival by watching the opening night fireworks on May 25th. This ongoing Portland favorite will feature carnival rides, games, food, vendors, and live entertainment – all at Tom McCall Waterfront Park!
