June 1: Starlight Parade

The Starlight Parade continues to be a longtime festival tradition dating back to the early 1900s—originally floats built on electric trolley cars! Today, approximately 100 illuminated floats, bands, and participants will wind their way through the 2.25-mile route downtown. This is a twinkling, summer night downtown that you and the family don’t want to miss. FREE

This annual event located at Tom McCall Waterfront Park will feature food, beer, carnival rides & games, and RoZone dance parties and concerts.

 

June 5-9: Fleet Week

Since the very beginning of the Rose Festival back in 1907, ships and submarines from the U.S Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and the Royal Canadian Navy have dropped anchor at the Portland Waterfront to visit the city. Over 110 years strong, Fleet Week celebrates all active and reserve military personnel and all veterans. Climb aboard and take a tour! FREE

 

June 8: Portland Scandinavian Midsummer Festival

Head to Oaks Park to celebrate the summer solstice at the 91st Annual Scandinavian Midsummer Festival! Now an Oregon Heritage Tradition Day! It’s a tradition to warm up after a long and cold winter by celebrating with friends, food, and drinks. Featuring: a Maypole, food, games, bonfire, Nordic crafts, vendors, and artists. Scandinavian roots not required!

 

June 8: Portland Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade

For over 100 years, Oregonians have been making memories at the Spirit Mountain Casino Grand Floral Parade! This cherished highlight of the festival is a colorful reflection of the local, regional and international communities.  The parade commences at the Memorial Coliseum at 10am and winds its way downtown along a 4-mile route. June 8-9: 2019 Dragon Boat Race

As a tradition for the thirty years, The Rose Festival hosts the 2019 Dragon Boat Race. This race will be held on the Willamette River next to the Hawthorne Bridge. Watch more than 80 local and international teams compete in heats that are held every nine minutes! FREE

 

June 14 – September 7: Oregon Zoo Summer Concerts

Grab your family and friends for one of the many concerts that the Oregon Zoo will be hosting. June 15-16: Portland Pride Festival and Parade

This event celebrates equality, the LGBTQ community, friends, families, and allies! The parade commences at 11 a.m. Sunday at NW Park Ave. & W Burnside Street (see website for route). The Festival will be held all weekend at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park and features food, beverages, and local vendors & exhibitors.

 

June 16: Father’s Day Cruise

June 29: Naked Bike Ride

This Portland famous event is held in conjunction with the annual World Naked Bike Ride. Hundreds of naked cyclists pedal the streets of Portland to promote bicycling, safe streets, and body positivity. FREE with a suggested donation.
