Aug 1-25: NW Natural Street of Dreams

Aug 10: Alberta Street Fair

Aug 17: Portland Adult Soapbox Derby

Once a year a brave group of racers gathers on the steep slopes of Mt. Tabor to put their courage to the test! This volunteer-fueled community event has been held for the last 20 years! Witness these teams pull their soapbox creations to the top, strap themselves in and careen down the hillsides in a flurry of sweat and beer.

Aug 23-24: Hood to Coast

The Hood to Coast Relay is a 198-mile long Oregon tradition! Approximately 12,000 runners journey from Mt. Hood’s Timberline Lodge to the Oregon Coast. The Walk Relay is a 129-mile relay of about 4,000 walkers from Portland. Both end at an ocean party!

Aug 24: Shakespeare on the Lawn & Artisan Fair

Join up on Hayden Island for an evening of comedy, wine and artisan vendors hosted by Backstay Wine Company. Welcome the Portland Actors Ensemble performing As You Like It for their 50th season. Performing since 1970, the Portland Actors Ensemble is Portland’s original Shakespeare-in-the-Parks. The performance will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Beforehand, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., there will be live music, wine tasting, and artisan vendors to shop as well as lawn games. Backstay wine will be available for purchase by the glass. Invite your friends, bring a picnic, blanket, and chairs!
